Dental Bridges

For those who are missing one or more teeth, dental bridges can be a lifesaver! You will probably be surprised at how different your smile looks and feels after you receive this type of restoration.

At Crater Lake Dental, we are perfectionists when it comes to creating bridges that are both aesthetically pleasing and perform at optimum levels. We routinely perform a full exams before we recommend a dental bridge. That’s because we want to make sure that we are recommending the best possible option for you and your smile.

What Is A Dental Bridge?

Dental bridges are restorations that are fixed in place to fill in the gap created by your missing tooth or teeth. You can think of a dental bridge as two or more crowns joined together. A dental bridge can be great for your smile and can improve your ability to eat and speak.

Using a dental bridge to restore your smile can also help you maintain the shape of your face, and it can prevent your remaining teeth from drifting.

Receiving Your Dental Bridge

Typically, receiving your dental bridge will take two visits to our office. At the first visit, we’ll recontour the surrounding teeth to help make room for the crown or crowns to be placed. We’ll then create an impression of your teeth, which will help us create a dental bridge that comfortably and naturally fits your smile.

While your new bridge is being created, you’ll wear a temporary bridge which will protect your teeth and jaws in the meantime.

When you return for your second visit, we’ll remove your temporary bridge and fit you with your permanent one. We’ll check to make sure the bridge fits properly and make any necessary adjustments. Finally, we’ll cement the new bridge into place.
